Heralekayi Chitranna
Ingredients :
- Heralekayi - 1
- Hot Cooked rice - 2 cups
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies - 4
- Chopped coriender leaves - 1/4 cup
- Jeera - 1/4 tsp
- Peepper - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Urd dal - 1 tsp
- Bengal gram - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Peanuts - 2 tsp
- Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
- Grind grated coconut,green chillies,coriender leaves into paste.Crush jeera and pepper into coarse powder.
- Heat oil in a pan for tempering , add mustard seeds , urd dal, bengal gram, curry leaves , peanuts and asafoetida and fry for few seconds.Add little turmeric and salt to the tempering.
- Add ground coconut-chilly paste and powdered jeera-pepper to the hot tempering and mix well.Turn off the flame and add juice of heralekai (citron) into it and mix well.
- Mix cooked rice to the prepared mixture and mix well.
- Tasty and healthy heralekayi chitranna is ready to enjoy.
