Sandige Chitranna
Ingredients :
- Cooked rice - 1 cup
- Green chillies - 4-5 finely chopped
- Coriender leaves - few
- Curry leaves - few
- Aralu sandige / Peni (fried) - 3-4
- Uppu menasinakayi (fried)- 2-3
- Salt to taste
- Jeera & pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Grated fresh coconut - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - 4-5 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Urd dal - 1/4 tsp
- Channa dal - 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida
- Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add urd dal and channa dal and fry till it turns golden brown in a low flame.Add pinch of asafoetida.
- Then add curry leaves , chopped green chillies,jeera - pepper powder and salt to taste.
- Turn off the flame. Add cooked rice and grated coconut to this tempering and mix well.
- Crush fried aralu sandige, peni, uppu menasinakayi and mix it with sandige chitranna while serving.
- Yummy sandige chitranna is ready to serve.
