Sandige Chitranna

Ingredients :
  1.  Cooked rice - 1 cup
  2. Green chillies - 4-5 finely chopped
  3. Coriender leaves - few
  4. Curry leaves - few
  5. Aralu sandige / Peni (fried) - 3-4
  6. Uppu menasinakayi (fried)- 2-3
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Jeera & pepper powder - 1 tsp
  9. Grated fresh coconut - 1/2 cup
 Tempering :  
  1. Ghee - 4-5 tsp
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  3. Urd dal - 1/4 tsp
  4. Channa dal - 1/4 tsp
  5. Asafoetida
Method : 
  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add urd dal and channa dal and fry till it turns golden brown in a low flame.Add pinch of asafoetida.
  2. Then add curry leaves , chopped green chillies,jeera - pepper powder and salt to taste.
  3. Turn off the flame. Add cooked rice and grated coconut to this tempering and mix well.
  4. Crush fried aralu sandige, peni, uppu menasinakayi and mix it with sandige chitranna while serving.
  5. Yummy sandige chitranna is ready to serve.
